Twin Daughters of lA Official Arrested for Assault In ICE Riots

The twin daughters of a senior Los Angeles official were arrested in the ICE riots on Sunday night, where they presumably attacked a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon.

Lucia Aguilar Cole, 26, who acts as the Community Growth and Economic Innovation Deputy for the Los Angeles City Council, was collared around 7pm together with her sibling, Antonia, according to LA Sheriff's Department records.

The females are the daughters of Rick Cole - the city's existing Chief Deputy Controller and a previous mayor of Pasadena. They were detained throughout discontent that saw protesters hurling rocks and other objects from a bridge on to the 101 Freeway, where police vehicles were placed listed below.

But it remains uncertain what the alleged deadly weapon was or why they were arrested.

Speaking at an anti-ICE protest on Sunday, Cole stated he was conscious his children had been arrested.

'I've just seen images of my two daughters on a curb in downtown Los Angeles in handcuffs,' he informed the crowd, according to Los Angeles magazine. 'So I'm going to be figuring out where they are so I can go bail them out.'

Cole did not react to a request for remark from DailyMail.com.

Rick is one of LA's top officials having spent four years serving in various functions as Pasadena's Mayor, Councilmember and City Manager of the cities of Azusa, Ventura and Santa Monica

Since Monday, both Lucia - who uses they/them pronouns and goes by Luz - (bottom right) and Antonia (bottom left) stay in custody on a $50,000 bond

Lucia, who passes 'Luz' and utilizes 'they/them' pronouns, is likewise a staffer for LA City board member Ysabel Jurado, who triggered a scandal in October 2024 when she was recorded during her project saying 'What's the rap verse? F ** k the cops, that's how I see them,' in response to a question about eliminating polices.

On Monday, Jurado told the LA Times that Aguilar had actually been placed on unsettled leave.

'The claims are deeply worrying and I take them extremely seriously,' the councilwoman stated.

'While I appreciate the person's right to due process, I hold my team to the greatest standards of conduct.'

As of Monday, the 2 children of the leading LA political household remained in the 77th Street jail after being booked and held on $50,000 bail.

According to law practice Cron, Israels & Stark, conviction for their alleged offense can fetch a jail sentence of in between three and five years.

Their dad Rick has spent 4 years as a senior official and leader in LA County, functioning as Pasadena Mayor, Council member and City Manager of the cities of Azusa, Ventura and Santa Monica.

He currently functions as the Chief Deputy Controller for the LA and previously acted as the city's Deputy Mayor for Budget and Innovation.

The riots in the city were sparked by a variety of raids by federal immigration authorities bought by the Trump Administration.

LA City Council member Ysabel Jurado has placed Aguilar on overdue leave. 'The allegations are deeply concerning and I take them extremely seriously,' she stated

Unrest has actually spanned the city's streets for 3 days and resulted in rioters encountering police as law enforcement officers have actually resorted to using rubber bullets and shooting tear gas

Some protestors have actually also set Waymo cars and trucks on fire in downtown LA as thousands gathered to oppose migration sweeps in the city

Trump sends Marines in to LA riots and threatens to jail 'criminal' Gavin Newsom: Live updates

Unrest has actually covered the city's streets for 3 days and resulted in rioters clashing with police, taking control of the 101 freeway and setting vehicles on fire, while authorities responded by shooting tear gas and rubber bullets - with some capturing press reporters in the crossfire.

California leaders have actually knocked Trump for what they see as deliberately whipping up the dispute with unneeded action, prompting more civil discontent by commandeering the National Guard from state control and sending out 2,000 troops into the city.

California Governor Gavin Newsom vowed to take legal action against the administration over the relocation which he called 'a prohibited act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act' in an interview with MSNBC.

'He's exacerbated the conditions. He's lit the proverbial match,' Newsom stated.

'These anarchists that are in there to develop genuine issues, and they're just playing right into Donald Trump's hand. And they require to be called out. They require to be jailed.

'It is incorrect to damage other individuals's residential or commercial property, and it is incorrect to create the conditions that only intensify this. But Donald Trump, at the end of the day, is the sponsor of these conditions.'

LA Council member Eunisses Hernandez was recorded telling a crowd of anti-ICE protestors that the federal immigration firm knows 'how quickly we mobilize, that's why they're changing tactics.

'Because community defense works and our resistance has slowed them down before ... and if they're escalating their techniques then so are we. When they appear, we got ta appear even more powerful.'

Hernandez doubled down on her assistance of the anti-ICE demonstrations in a television interview with NBCLA.

When asked by anchor Colleen Williams, 'Would you advise [protestors] to remain within the boundaries of the law out there?'

Hernandez replied, 'What I would state is that individuals who are out there protesting, be safe. Keep in mind that we require all neighborhood members to be able to "throw down" in future emergencies.'

Gavin Newsom has been a huge critic of President Trump's choice to hijack the National Guard from state control and send in 2,000 soldiers into the city, stating he is whipping up the conflict with unneeded action

Luz Aguilar Cole states on their LinkedIn page that they are a 'Financial Activist', 'Environmentalist', and 'Affordable Housing Advocate'.

Luz worked as a research analyst for Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) in Oakland, California from September 2023 to February this year and is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.

Their bio on the website states they seek 'to weave together the crossways of social, financial, and climate justice to attend to systemic problems facing our regional and global neighborhood.'

Luz's boss, Councilwoman Jurado, is a noted critic of LA's police department.

During the campaign for her council seat last year, Jurado was taped being inquired about eliminating cops.

'What's the rap verse? F- the cops, that's how I see 'em,' she reacted.

She later told ABC7 News: 'I quoted a lyric from a song that's been part of a bigger discussion on systemic injustice and police responsibility for years. But it was simply a lyric ... My dedication to public safety stays as strong as ever.'

After her election to LA council district 14, Jurado was captured in another controversy when she was photographed seeming asleep at her chamber seat during a closed February session.

Jurado told ABC7: 'It appears like I was reading, and if certainly I did doze off, I think this will not be the very first or last of the human moments that I have as a council member,'
